Anglesey Aluminium contracted WiSS to develop an online resource to maintain and update essential supplier details and contact information using a centralised web-service. Suppliers from Europe and worldwide are successfully using the system to maintain data, thus reducing the need for time consuming, repetitive administration tasks by Angelsey Aluminium staff.

Over the last few months, WiSS has worked closely with the Careers and Opportunites Department, Bangor University, not only in designing the website but commissioning and co-ordinating two photoshoots to produce imagery for the site.
The result is an excellent example of a site which shows that it is possible to create a visually exciting, user-friendly interface at the same time as meeting the brief of providing an information resource which appeals to a broad age range of specific users groups.

The new website for North West Wales NHS Trust was launched today.
Although the new site currently contains much of the same content as the old site, the new design and easy-to-use navigation will hopefully provide the site visitor with a more satisfying web browsing experience. WiSS's bilingual Content Management System and WYSWIG editing interface will also empower staff to edit content with ease and add pages to the site as needed. As specified in the original requirements, the new site also meets Bobby AA accessibility standards.

The visitllyn website was launched today. It offers visitors a different view of the tourism industry, focusing on language, community, cultural and artistic locations and activities. The site will include a diary of news and events and will also enable users to register to receive the Partnership's quarterly newsletter which contains latest information and special offers for accommodation and activities in the area.

The “Holiday in Welsh” or "Gwyliau Cymraeg" scheme is run by Menter Iaith Gwynedd and Menter Iaith Conwy and provides opportunities for Welsh learners to use the language to book accommodation, or a day of mountain biking! As well as re-designing the site, WiSS will be developing a searchable database of businesses who offer their services in Welsh. Once the site is launched, businesses will be provided with a user name and password, enabling them to login to the website to keep their information up to date.

Welsh Language Board Bilingual Design Awards 2005 - WiSS win the New Media Category with the Bardsey Island Trust website. The award, sponsored by Camelot, is given for creative use of Welsh and English on a website, CD Rom or multimedia presentation. Creative Director Ann Lewis said; "I'm delighted that we've won the award for a number of reasons - of course recognition for the company and staff's hard work is important but it's an added bonus that the award puts the creative spotlight on design excellence in North Wales".

We're delighted to bring the award to North Wales for the first time. The design awards highlight the importance of using both languages as a matter of course, without it being seen as an obstacle to good design. I believe our bilingual work enables our clients to work with greater ease in their language of choice and it follows that if people are more comfortable working through the medium of Welsh, they in turn will be more productive and able to provide a better service to their customers.

The redesigned and newly developed website provides all the expected information about the language centre, its facilities (Heritage Centre, restaurant and fantastic nearby beach!) and breathtaking location but now enables the end user to book Welsh courses and accommodation online, as well as providing them with an opportunity to purchase the unique 'Nant' pottery in the online shop. Not only does the site user benefit from the redesign - Nant staff have complete freedom to edit, add pages and maintain all site content using WiSS' inline CMS. www.nantgwrtheyrn.org
